The Aditya Birla Cricket Academy was conceived as a comprehensive training and residential facility dedicated to nurturing the next generation of cricketing talent. The building brought together a wide range of sporting, learning and support facilities within a unified architectural environment. Indoor and outdoor cricket nets formed the core of the training programme, complemented by a fully equipped gym and health club, swimming pool, videography room and classrooms. A canteen and student dormitories completed the programme, allowing the academy to function as an integrated ecosystem where training, education, recovery and everyday student life came together.

Architecturally, the academy expressed the energy and discipline of sport through a robust yet contemporary material palette. Exposed concrete formed the primary building mass, articulated with carefully positioned horizontal openings that brought natural light into the interiors. The principal façade was layered with powder-coated aluminium fins of varying heights and projections, creating a dynamic screen that provided solar shading while giving the building its distinctive identity. A vibrant colour composition behind the fins added a sense of movement and energy, reflecting the spirit of cricket. Landscaped edges and pedestrian forecourts softened the solidity of the structure, creating a welcoming campus-like setting around a building designed to support athletes both on and off the field.
