Breach Candy Waves cafe, Mumbai

The interior of Waves Café at the Breach Candy Club was conceived as a warm, contemporary dining environment that balanced the relaxed character of a club café with a refined architectural language. A palette of natural timber, muted plaster surfaces, cane furniture and soft green upholstery created a calm, resort-like atmosphere, while the extensive glazing connected the café visually with the surrounding landscape and sporting facilities. The timber ceiling was treated as a strong architectural element, with a rhythmic grid of beams and recessed linear lighting creating depth, warmth and a sense of continuity across the large dining space.

The planning was deliberately informal and inclusive, allowing the café to accommodate families, children, sportspeople and club members within a single cohesive environment. Timber dining tables and woven cane chairs introduced a tactile, familiar quality, while the bar and service counter formed an active focal point without overpowering the dining area. Carefully integrated lighting, open views to the outdoors and a restrained material palette helped create an atmosphere that was energetic during the day yet intimate in the evening. The result was intended to be a contemporary club café that felt casual, elegant and distinctly connected to the lifestyle of the Breach Candy Club.
