Designed for the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the Insurance Institute of India Headquarters at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, was conceived as a contemporary institutional campus reflecting the Institute’s position as India’s premier organisation for insurance education, research and professional development.

The architecture combines a modern aesthetic with functional planning to create an environment that supports learning, collaboration and administrative excellence. Clean architectural lines, generous glazing and a welcoming entrance establish a strong institutional identity within Mumbai’s leading business district. SPA was entrusted with the Architectural, Engineering and Interior Design of the project, delivering an integrated solution that balances aesthetics with operational efficiency. The facility accommodates administrative offices, training and conference facilities, classrooms, seminar halls and collaborative learning spaces, all organised around efficient circulation and abundant natural light. Engineering systems were carefully coordinated to maximise comfort, energy efficiency and long-term performance, while the interiors create a professional environment that enhances both learning and workplace productivity. The project exemplifies SPA’s multidisciplinary approach, seamlessly integrating architecture, engineering and interiors to create a sustainable, functional and future-ready institutional facility. Designed to support the Institute’s evolving educational mission and changing technologies, the Insurance Institute of India Headquarters stands as a testament to SPA’s expertise in delivering high-quality institutional developments that combine architectural excellence, operational efficiency and enduring value.
