Shashi Prabhu & Associates (SPA) and FP India were appointed as the master planning consultant by Adani Natural Resources to develop the masterplan for a 63-acre residential township at Suliyari, envisioned as a modern settlement for the company’s mining community. The assignment sought to create a sustainable and self-sufficient township that would provide high-quality housing and social infrastructure for employees and their families while supporting the long-term operational needs of the mining project. The planning approach focused on establishing a balanced relationship between residential development, community amenities, mobility, and the natural landscape.
Responding to the site’s topography and existing natural drainage patterns, the masterplan adopts an environmentally sensitive planning strategy that works with the landscape rather than against it. Development parcels, infrastructure corridors, and open spaces have been carefully positioned to preserve natural watercourses, improve stormwater management, and minimise ecological disturbance. The result is a resilient and well-structured township that combines functionality, sustainability, and liveability, establishing a comprehensive planning framework for a contemporary residential community.
The masterplan organises the township into demarcated residential neighbourhoods connected through a hierarchical road network that promotes efficient circulation and ease of access. A central spine accommodates key community facilities and public spaces, while residential clusters are arranged to encourage walkability, neighbourhood interaction, and a safe living environment. Landscaped open spaces, green buffers, and recreational areas are strategically integrated throughout the development to enhance environmental quality and provide a healthy, community-oriented setting. The planning also incorporates provisions for future expansion and phased implementation without compromising the overall urban structure.
