BARSAPARA CRICKET STADIUM
Cricket is one of the most popular sports cross India. This fact is proven once again by the fact that the Assam Cricket Association felt the need of a modern, state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Guwahati- a region known for its football love.
Shahshi Prabhu and Associates was involved with the design and development of a 50,000 capacity Cricket Stadium with 4 separate stands. This is the first cricket stadium in India constructed using structural steel framing and unitized steel decking system. In a zone prone to earthquakes, building a sustainably strong stadium, which now hosts many key international matches for Indian cricket team, is a great achievement.
The north side of the plot accommodates a club house with a swimming pool, tennis courts, restaurants, bar, squash courts and badminton courts.
