The Government of Maharashtra taken a lead in promoting a sports culture across the state with the formation of Kreeda Probodhini at Taluka and District level. Kausa Sports City, a milestone under this initiative, is the largest contiguous sports complex in in the entire Mumbai Metropolitan Region and can be proudly branded as a hub for community cohesion and epicenter for sports development in the MMR region.

The vision for Kausa Sports Complex is to raise the sports standard of athletes in the entire MMR region to national and International level and at the same time, raise necessary finances to facilitate upkeep of the facility. This sports complex offers the perquisite infrastructure required for international standard coaching for athletes. This has been the continual brief for the architecture team- to create an international standard sports facility where future world champions will be groomed.

As the second largest sports complex across Maharashtra, Kausa Sports City is a 130 acres complex that offers an international level 8-lane running track with flood lighting, an athletic gallery, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an indoor 4-court badminton complex, tennis courts, Volleyball courts and other facility for other indoor games.

"While we have worked on many stadiums and other sports facilities, an integrated sports complex was a unique challenge for us as well. The core design idea was simple- creating a sports landmark based on green architecture. We have extensively used solar panels, CRZ-built mass and rainwater harvesting."
